As fire crews continue to battle three large fires in the Red Lake area, travel restrictions have been put in place on some roads.
In a prepared release, MMNRF says:
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising the public that due to forest fire activity in the Red Lake area, an ‘Implementation Order’ is in effect that restricts access and use of certain roads and Crown lands.
All travel and use of the following roads are restricted:
Coli Road, Sidace Road, Bandit Road, Rita Lake Road and North Road.
Travel Permits are required for travel into the restricted areas.
All travel on the Nungesser road through the Red Lake 40 fire will be escorted traffic from 06:00 to 21:00 CST until this order is rescinded. Nungesser road will remain open after these hours.
NOTAM is in place for all forest fires and restricts air travel within 5 nautical miles of any forest fire. NOTAM information is available through MNRF-Fire at 807-727-2000.
