Wednesday was a record-smashing day in terms of rainfall here in the northwest region.
Signal Weather Service’s Bill Laidlaw says 191.5-millimetres was recorded in Vermilion Bay.
Laidlaw says 48.3 of that fell in the hour between 7:00am and 8:00am.
The previous record was 153.5, recorded back in 1993 in Kenora.
Laidlaw says the Experimental Lakes Area was also hit hard on Wednesday with 146.6-millimetres of rain.
Dryden received just under 52-millimetres.
