The City of Dryden has declared a State of Emergency to assist with the evacuation of Pikangikum.
The move allows the City to recoup any costs incurred by the municipality from both the provincial and federal governments.
Dryden will act as a transportation hub for now.
Mayor Greg Wilson says they are expecting ground evacuees later today and will be providing a temporary rest stop at the Memorial Arena as evacuees continue their travel to host communities.
The public is asked to stay away from the arena to allow for a smooth transition.
