Kenora MP Bob Nault says his government was able to accomplish a lot in the recent sitting of Parliament.
He stresses it’s almost impossible to accomplish everything in the first full term.
Nault says he’s most proud of his governments economic record.
“The economy is doing extremely well and that’s because we’ve put a lot of time and effort into the economy, whether it’s in training, whether it’s helping the business community, whether it’s lowering taxes.”
He notes the country is facing its lowest unemployment on record.
The unemployment rate did edge up to 5.% in June, compared with 5.4% in May.
That was its lowest mark since the government started collecting comparable data in 1976.
In terms of contentious issues discussed on Parliament Hill, Nault points to the difficult “assisted dying” debate.
Nault says “it’s now going to be reviewed shortly to see how and what this means to Canadians.”
