Council spokesperson Janine Seymour says the kit was a key priority for a drug task force and is focused on addiction to opioids and crystal meth.
The group was established last year and was tasked with coming up with a three-year plan based on four pillars; prevention and enforcement, early identification, intervention and harm reduction, and treatment and aftercare.
Grand Chief Francis Kavanaugh says that it’s critical that First Nations have access to funding and support to develop, implement, and evaluate their own solutions to address the mental health needs of their own communities.
