There are fewer civil servants working in the province these days.
Treasury Board President Peter Bethlanfalvy says they’ve approved 2,400 requests from workers willing to take voluntary early leave.
Bethlanfalvy says the reduction in the workforce will save Ontario $317-million by the end of 2022 with ongoing savings of $215-million every year after that.
He notes the reduction of the workforce was done in a thoughtful and reasonable way that still protect key front line services.
