The Dryden Regional Health Centre has announced a replacement for long-serving Chief Executive Officer Wade Petranik.
Darryl Galusha will take over the head role at the hospital starting on August 12th.
Petranik is retiring after spending 28-years with the organization.
Galusha is originally from Northwestern Ontario and started his health career as a Registered Nurse in Sioux Lookout.
He has been in Northern Saskatchewan, where he held the position of CEO for the Athabasca Health Authority.
Galusha holds a RN diploma, BHScN Degree, Masters in Business Leadership along with First Nations Health Leadership Certification.
He has held various positions with increasing responsibility in the United States, Northwestern Ontario, Nunavet and Northern Saskatchewan.
Galusha was also an accreditation surveyor for Accreditation Canada.
The Dryden Regional Health Centre received a near perfect rating in its most recent accreditation.
In a media release, Galusha stated “I am excited to be back in Northwestern Ontario and am looking forward to working with the community as well as the team at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.”
He added “As things continue to change in healthcare, together we can lead the change to continue to provide top quality care in the Dryden area.”
