It took a 20 man shootout before the Dryden GM Ice Dogs finally skated away with an important win on home ice.
Tyler Browning scored the winner to lead Dryden GM to a 5-4 victory over a determined Fort Frances Lakers team in a marathon Wednesday night game.
The Lakers were one save away from earning two points before Kyle Brandt extended the shootout.
In regulation, Evan Walls scored twice before leaving the game with an injury, while Kyle Sargent and Cordell Boyko also found the back of the net.
The Ice Dogs outshot the Lakers 57-50, with Jacob Anthony posting the win.
Dryden GM also lost Cameron Coutre to injury in the game.
With the win, the Ice Dogs moved four points back of the third place Thief River Falls Norskies in the SIJHL standings.
