Donald George Desautels passed away peacefully at DRHC, at the age of 75yrs with his family by his side, on August 8th, 2014.
Don was very loved and will be sadly missed by best friend Margaret Napish, his children, Gayla Desautels-Weatherall & son Lloyd Napish, and his grandchildren, Jaxon Ryan, Colton & Logan Napish.
Don is predeceased by his parents Frank & Elizabeth, siblings Brian, Eugene, Corrise Johnson, Roger, and recently Frances.
Also predeceased by his in-laws, Jim Rathwell, Donna Desautels, Sophie Desautels & nephew Wayne Desautels.
Don will be sadly missed by siblings, Patsy Rathwell, Gerry (Claudette), Richard (Inge), Linda Scott(Bill), Marcel (Dianne), Norman (Laurie) and brother in law; Ray Johnson.
Loved and missed by many nieces and nephews, Lillian, Cheryl, Jim, Paddy, Michelle, Nick, Greg, Charmaine, Corry, Kurtis, Marcy, Christopher, Terri, Todd, Susan, Liz, Tracey, Michael, Randy, Perry, Lorie, Carol, Cheryl, Troy and Greg.
Born in St. Anne, MB in 1939, the family moved to Barclay, ON (Dryden, ON) in 1946
Don worked at Rathwell Sawmill in 1956, but was injured on the job. He then worked for Louis Taxi for many years before spending many years as a Janitor for the school board.
Don enjoyed his many sports. He played and coached fastball for the Royals, with his 9 brothers, and his love for the sport took him to umpiring the game for many more years.
Don was a loyal fan of the Montreal Canadians, Montreal Expo’s, and the Dodgers.
There will be no Visitation as cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday August 13, 2014 at 11:00 am
in the Dryden Community Funeral Home’s Chapel with Father Al Campeau officiating.
Interment of ashes will be at a later date.
