Tis’ the season when police across the region patrol area streets to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable festive season.
Dryden Police Chief Doug Palson says annual RIDE programs are in full swing and officers will be visible over the next few days.
Palson says the goal of the campaign is to deter people from making decisions to drink and drive or drive while impaired.
He notes the actual program runs all year.
A reminder of new mandatory alcohol screening rules that authorize law enforcement to demand a breath sample at the roadside from any driver that has been lawfully stopped.
