Lloyd Leonard Fuerst
March 7, 1943 – March 11, 2025
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Lloyd Leonard Fuerst, on March 11, 2025.
Lloyd was born on March 7, 1943, in Brokenhead, Manitoba, and had just celebrated his 82nd birthday. He leaves behind his three daughters: Laurie, Kimberley (Tom) Hayden, and Patricia Lupian (Mike/Mim). He is also survived by his siblings: Leona Manchalanko, Ivan Fuerst, Sharon Young, Keith (Kathy) Fuerst, and Cathy Polny, as well as his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
He is predeceased by his friend Sharon Fuerst, parents Alma and Julius Fuerst, sister Donna Desautels, brothers Kenneth and Larry Fuerst. His in-laws Ross and Nora Finch, nephew Mark Young, his niece Sherry Marsh, and his brother in-law and best friend Bob Young.
Lloyd had a deep love for the outdoors, with a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping that took him to countless lakes and waters across Northwestern Ontario and beyond. He especially enjoyed spending time with Randy and Suzie Ingram and their family, visiting their cabin, and going fishing together.
He treasured his time with his best friend and brother-in-law, Bob Young, and their many adventures and shared laughs. One of their favorite traditions was their annual “surf and turf” fishing expedition, a trip they looked forward to every year.
After retiring from hunting, Lloyd found a new passion in the sport of darts. He traveled across Canada, both east and west, to compete in major tournaments, where he had the honor of playing against some of the world’s best. He leaves behind a collection of pins and trophies that reflect his dedication and success in the sport.
With love,
Kim, Patti, and families.
