Ross Allan McGregor
September 23, 1935 – March 9, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ross Allan McGregor, at home, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, with his wife and daughters by his side. Ross was born in Emo, Ontario on September 23, 1935, to Donald and Bethea McGregor. He grew up in Rainy River with three siblings, a brother Donald, and twin sisters Joy and Anne. He married his forever love, Sharon Jewell on August 12, 1960, and this was their 65th year. Together they raised their three daughters and were blessed with five grandchildren.
Ross moved to Dryden in 1958 to work at the Dryden Pulp and Paper Mill. After 18 years in the lab at the mill, Ross spent his remaining working years as a mechanic, making engines purr.
Ross and Sharon spent many of their retirement years travelling across the US and Canada as well as exploring in Europe, Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. He spent numerous winters in Arizona panning for gold and touring the desert on his side by side. Ross loved gardening, was an avid hunter and enjoyed curling and playing cards. His 1991 Ultra Classic Harley Davidson was one of his pride and joys.
Ross is survived by his wife, Sharon; three daughters, Melody McGregor (Peter), Monique Gervais (Steven) and Michelle Smith (Darren), and five grandchildren, Michael McGregor, Madeline Gervais, Jonathan Gervais, Aubrey Smith and Kytalyn Smith.
