The Ontario government is providing over $633,000 through the Nothern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation to three economic development projects in Dryden.
Funding will improve food sustainability, support agricultural innovation, and repair community infrastructure in NWO.
The funds are for the following three projects:
- $250,000 for AgriTech North to develop a multi-layer greenhouse envelope for good plant growth conditions, improving food security.
- $250,000 for AgriTech North to develop a thermal system for year-round food production on indoor farming facilities.
- $133,153 for the City of Dryden to replace the library roof and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
“Our investments in AgriTech North and the City of Dryden are examples of the projects our governemtn is supporting to foster resilient Northern communities that are eqipped for the future,” said Greg Rickford, MPP for Kenora, at today’s funding announcement.
Since 2018, the NOHFC has invested more than $835 million in 6,713 projects in Northern Ontario.
