An investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police has led to charges being laid against two Dryden residents.
On Tuesday, just before 7:00 p.m., a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at a residence on Government Street in Dryden, where a quantity of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone pills, Canadian currency, a prohibited weapon, and evidence of drug trafficking were located.
As a result of the investigation, a 35-years-old, and a 33-year-old, have been arrested and charged with:
• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (2 counts)
• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
Additionally, the 35-year-old has also been charged with possession of a prohibited device, possession of a prohibited device contrary to a Prohibition Order, and trafficking in a Schedule I substance.
Both accused individuals have been remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail with future court dates.
