Mary Ratcliffe
February 21, 1931 – November 27, 2023
Our beautiful mom, Mary Marguerite Ratcliffe; age 92; has gone home to her Lord and Saviour on November 27, 2023 with daughters Jane and Linda by her side.
Mary, born on February 21, 1931, was the eldest of seven siblings to Gladys and Lloyd Wray in Brantford, Ontario. One sister survives her.
Mary was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Thomas Edwin Ratcliffe on March 15, 2008. They had eight children: Cheryle (Keith) Richards, Linda Ratcliffe, Edwina (Blake) Steel,
Jane (George) Edison, James (Louiselle) Ratcliffe, Christine (Eldon) Rogers, Johnnie (Sandra) Ratcliffe, and Cindy (Rick) Snell.
(Mom and family all mourn the recent passing of Jim (James) on July 28, 2023)
After the loss of their beloved spouses, Mary and Conrad Gevoga met and became loving companions, comforting each other through their grief, until Conrad passed away on November 15, 2020.
Mary was loved, admired, and respected by her children, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, for her amazing courage, loving caring heart, sense of humor, teasing wit, beautiful blue eyes, and smile.
In her younger years, even in her last days, we, her children loved to hear her sing and yodel! She liked to play Yahtzee, write in her journals, scribble love notes to everyone, and color or paint.
She will be forever in our hearts and missed by all.
Special thanks to those wonderful neighbors Teri and Mark who brightened her days (and ours). Hugs and hugs to Judy and Isabelle also for being there.
Our sincere appreciation to Parameds Richard and Derrick for your kindness and gentle caring manner with mom.
Thank you to Amy who was fondly regarded as moms “double angel”, and to Rachelle and Sarah for your gentle support and care in moms last hours in the Dryden hospital.
A Memorial Reunion in honor of Mary will be arranged and set for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, 885 Meadowlands Drive Suite 502, Ottawa, ON K2C 3N2.
