Wab Kinew has been officially sworn in as Manitoba’s premier and Canada’s first First Nations provincial premier.
Kinew took his oath of office Wednesday wearing a First Nations headdress during a ceremony in Winnipeg featuring traditional Indigenous music and dance.
Calling it the beginning of a new era, he stressed that fixing health care remains his NDP government’s priority.
On Oct. 3rd, Kinew defeated the Progressive Conservatives, who had been in power for seven years in the province.
Today, we were sworn in as your new Manitoba Government.
