Domtar has officially handed over the keys to the new owner of its now former Dryden operations.
The deal valued at $240 million was part of a requirement through Canada’s Competition Bureau, after Domtar, through Paper Excellence, purchased Resolute Forest Products.
The mill will operate within the companies run by First Quality Group, under the name Dryden Fibre Canada ULC.
A release from the company states there are currently no changes planned to the employees, operations or business of the Dryden Mill.
The deal closed on the very same day that Resolute’s Pulp and Paper operations in Thunder Bay was turned over to a new owner, another requirement of Domtar’s purchase of Resolute.
That facility, now known as Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper, will have a similar ownership structure, under Atlas Holdings.
