An amazing afternoon thanks to amazing people this past Friday as the beautification of Eagle River continues!
An incredible mural was unveiled for all to see. The mural, created by principal artist Cindy Palermo, honors the rich history of the railroad in the area. The mural is located at ‘Gloria’s across from the park.’

” We were wowed by a crowd of over 80 who came to share the unveiling of our mural in Eagle River.
Principal artist Cindy Palermo spent over 100 volunteer hours bringing this masterpiece to fruition (check out her instagram @cynthiapalermo_art ). Gloria Vezina granted us permission to display the mural on her outer wall. Mayor Gord Griffiths presented both Cindy and Gloria with Certificates of Appreciation and positive speeches re our volunteer group’s enthusiasm to beautify the community of Eagle River. He shared stories of his childhood pertaining to the history of the railroad in the area. We want to send a huge, resounding thank you shout out to our volunteers, the Revitalization Committee and funding provided by the Municipality of Machin. A project of this magnitude takes many hands. Thank you to Roxy Mol who sewed the cloak to mask the artwork until the reveal. Max Nagy for liaison work arranging the artist, paint, materials and transportation before and after completion of the mural. Set up and clean up. Bob Hampe for the framework, installation and final unveiling of the mural, set up and clean up. Drew Myers for installation. Linda Carter for providing cupcakes, serving, pictures, videos, set up and clean up. Connie Calvert for making fudge brownies, advertising/marketing, write up, set up and clean up. Grieg Carter for taking pictures, set up and clean up. Carmene Hampe for overseeing, organizing refreshments, next steps , set up and clean up. Norbert Bruyere for donating ice. Susanne Bastable and the Sunset Country Ukulele Group for musical entertainment. All involved contributed to the final outcome…a huge success. What an AMAZING Community!”
