Another phone scam in the region.
A call is from Visa Canada using a local number and says unauthorized payments have been made on your card.
The first call is an automated message about suspicious charges on your Visa.
The number comes up as a local one (807-467-5343).
Then a second call from a call center (807-467-6862) that again says there has been suspicious charges on your Visa and they need your details to confirm.
One caller to Acadia News says they don’t have a Visa card so they knew it was a scam.
Visa Canada confirms it does not phone it there has been any unauthorized purchases on your card and suggests the card be locked so it can’t be used by scam artists.
