The NDP is looking for a new budget as a new session of Queen’s Park begins.
MPP’s are expected to the vote on the budget put forward before the June election.
Kiiwetinoong MPP Sol Mamakwa says a lot has changed since then.
“We know that the inflation has exploded over to 8%. For the government that means their budget needs to be adjusted to account for the inflation. In healthcare but also in education.”
Mamakwa says the government needs to take immediate action to give the public relief.
Provincial politicians are heading back to the Ontario legislature today (Monday) for the start of a new session.
It’s the first time they are sitting since the Progressive Conservatives won a second majority government in early June.
The first order of business is electing a Speaker, and two Tories are vying for the job.
