A young hockey player from our area is one step closer to an NHL dream coming true.
Eagle Lake’s Daimon Gardner was 112th in the NHL draft and was selected by the Vancouver Canucks earlier today.
Gardner has already signed with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL for the upcoming season. The following season in 2023-24, he’s committed to Clarkson University in the NCAA.
The 17-year-old is from Eagle Lake First Nation and has already traveled quite a bit in his hockey career, playing for the Omaha Lancers in Nebraska, then to Minnesota for high school hockey this past season.
