Two people have been charged in connection with the suspicious disappearance and death of a 26 year old Nipigon woman over two years ago.
Alyssa Turnbull was last seen alive between March 23 and 25, 2020 and family members reported her missing the following month.
After a 27-month investigation, Provincial Police say 60 year old Brian Soos and 27 year old Nick Soos have been arrested.
The two face charges of committing indignity to a body and obstructing justice.
They are in custody.
Police believe the accused and the victim had common interests.
Detective Inspector Darryl Sigouin is the Major Case Manager with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and says, “For the last 27 months, our investigative team has worked diligently to identify those responsible for Alyssa’s disappearance, suspecting foul play was involved. We are hopeful the charges we have laid bring some form of resolution to Alyssa’s family and the community; which can further assist by providing more information.”
The remains of Turnbull still have not been found.
