UPDATE:
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has now been issued for the Dryden and Ignace area.
Watches and warnings have been off and on throughout the day with large hail already reported in Ignace.
Here is the latest update from Environment Canada meteorologists:
“There is potential for severe thunderstorms to develop along an approaching cold front. The main threats are damaging wind gusts of 90 to 110 km/h and nickel to ping-pong ball sized hail. A tornado may also be possible.”
The storm is expected to hit late Tuesday afternoon and into the evening.
