Hydro One says it is ready for the worst.
Spokesperson Alicia Sayers says they have been preparing for the winter storm and relocating crews to areas they believe will be hardest hit.
Sayers is encouraging homeowners to put together an emergency kit in the event of a power outage.
Items recommended include water and food that won’t spoil for all family members and pets, a manual can opener, some extra batteries, cash as well as a first aid kit and other medical items.
She encourages folks to report any outage to Hydro One.
“Hydro One Online, you can text us at 92887 or WATTS, or they can report the outage directly on our map or app. Of course we also have our outage line which is available at 1-800-434-1235.”
Sayers adds safety comes first so you should always keep at least 10 metres back of any downed line, even if it’s not live, and report it to police or call Hydro One at 1-800-434-1235.
