A group of transports called Canada Unity is making their way to Ottawa this week in protest against COVID-19 mandates.
The convoy is scheduled to stop in Kenora on the night of January 25, Dryden during the day on the 26 and in Thunder Bay late Wednesday as part of a country wide protest.
In a statement Saturday, the Canadian Trucking Alliance said it “does not support and strongly disapproves of any protests on public roadways, highways, and bridges. CTA believes such actions – especially those that interfere with public safety – are not how disagreements with government policies should be expressed”.
Travels delays in the region can be expected.
Provincial Police say they are prepared for the convoy in communities across Northwestern Ontario.
They are asking that everyone be patient and respectful of each other despite any inconvenience.
