Dryden Fall Fest is back for it’s second year and kicks off this weekend at the Laura Howe Marsh parking lot.
The first event is Harvest Hay Day today, (Saturday October 2) from 11am-3pm and Organizer Laina Smith was a guest on the CKDR morning show today to tells us what people can expect.
“There will be an outdoor market with 25 local vendors to shop, you can grab lunch from Just G’s who’s serving up some hot dogs, pulled pork, chilli, chicken noodle soup and refreshments. You can entertain the kiddos with our ‘Treats and Trees Walk’. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are up for grabs.”
You can also show off your gardening skills by entering the ‘Gourd Goals’ contest.
“Submit your home grown pumpkin or other gourd for a chance to win. If you’re not a green thumb that’s okay you can bring a carved jack o lantern for judging and we have carved or painting categories if you’re feeling really creative. Last but not least we have Jenna Ashley Photo running a photo booth for last chance fall photos.”
Pumpkin carving will be offered on site and Smith says they’re also offering a transportation option.
“For anyone wanting to attend Harvest Hay Day but can’t get to the marsh, this year we have hired MyLift to run during the event with pick up locations at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in North Dryden, A&W, Patricia Gardens, Go Getters and the Methodist Church. The bus loop will run about every 30 minutes from 10:45am to 2:45pm.”
Smith adds the committee of volunteers has been working hard all year and look forward to bringing the fall fun to Dryden once again.
COVID-19 protocols will be in place.
Online contests are also underway including fall photo and yard décor address submissions.
