The race for MP of Kenora would have been a lot tighter if local students had their say.
Schools across the country were once again involved in the Student Vote Canada initiative, which helps educate students about the election process, and includes a mock vote.
The results from that vote had Eric Melillo picking up 32.26% support, with NDP candidate Janine Seymour right behind at 31.5%
The vote differential was only four.
Liberal David Bruno was third at 17.27% support.
A total of 527 students participated.

Janine Seymour New Democratic Party 166 31.50%
David Bruno Liberal Party of Canada 91 17.27%
Remi Rheault Green Party of Canada 56 10.63%
Craig Martin People’s Party of Canada 44 8.35%
Students favoured NDP candidates Yuk-Sem Won for Thunder Bay-Rainy River and Chantelle Bryson for Thunder Bay-Superior North.
For national results, local youth elected a minority Liberal government.
Under their vote, they gave the Grits 117 seats, the NDP with 102 and the Conservatives with 91.
