A sure sign that summer is coming to an end.
The 2021 Dryden Fall Fair is set for Thursday August 26 to Saturday August 28.
While there won’t be midway rides, Lisa Koshel with the Dryden and District Agricultural Society says there will still be lots of farm fun activities.
“Our parade is Thursday at 6:30pm, it will be a good route through town. But also, we’re also inviting anyone to participate and we have a new contest this year. Normally, we have a few stores in town that decorate and so this year we’re offering a new prize for the best decorated store front or business front.”
There will be children’s games, bouncy houses, mobile laser tag, food, animals entertainment and much more.
“The center of the fair this year will be our entertainment,” explains Koshel. “So, as usual we will have a full slate of entertainment running all three days. And there will be no distractions because there won’t be a lot of loud noise from the midway, so everybody on the ground should be able to hear that great local entertainment coming out of our Neil Moody entertainment stage.”
After taking a year off due to COVID-19, Koshel says the theme of the fair this year is ‘Back to the Farm’.
“We have been running fairs in Dryden for over a hundred years and it is unprecedented that we had to take a year off. A lot of us work for a very long time to put these events on and we’re just super excited to have the opportunity to welcome the community back in, to educate a little bit about agriculture and what’s going on in our area and just to have a really good end to our summer and a good start to our fall.”
Admission is $6 for adults, members get in for $5 and children under 12 are free.
Physical distancing and masking is recommended for when six feet distance can’t be maintained.
