It was another busy week for the Dryden Police Service.
In their Weekly Calls for Service Update, officers responded to 226 calls and laid 41 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code.
This marks the second straight week local police had over 200 calls for service, with 234 in the previous report and 36 charges.
Some of the calls Dryden Police attended from July 19 to 25 include:
• Property Crime – 26
• Crime against Person – 21
• Police Assist/Assist Public – 43
• Mental Health – 9
• Traffic Complaints/Enforcement – 15
• Foot Patrol/Property checks – 12
• Liquor Licence Act – 10
• Suspicious/Unwanted Persons – 35
• Animal Complaints – 7
• 911 calls – 10
• Other – 38
Property crimes went up from nine calls to 26 and there were 10 more calls for a suspicious or unwanted person compared to the week before.
Calls for police assistance stayed the same, while calls for foot patrol or property checks and crimes against a person increased slightly and other call categories stayed about the same.
