Another huge catch for Dryden’s Treven Ouellet.
The AML Pro-Guide at Andy Myers Camp in Vermilion Bay started the 2021 Muskie season off with an absolute beast.
Ouellet reeled in a 55.5 inch Muskie on Eagle Lake, kicking off what could be a giant fishing season in the area.
To make the experience better Ouellet was fishing with his dad on Father’s Day.
Last year while fishing alone, he reeled in a 54.5 inch Muskie.
The current IGFA all-tackle world record Muskie was caught by Cal Johnson on July 24, 1949 at Lake Court Oreilles near Hayward, Wisconsin.
The fish weighed 67 pounds, 8 ounces.
Johnson’s fish reportedly measured 60 1/4 inches.
The Ontario record Muskie weighed 65 pounds and measured 58 inches in length.
Toronto’s Ken O’Brien caught the fish on October 16, 1988, in Georgian Bay’s Blackstone Harbour, Moon River Basin.
