The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train won’t be rolling through northwestern Ontario this year due to COVID-19, but the giving doesn’t stop.
Spokesperson Salem Woodrow says they will continue to donate to communities across the network.
“COVID-19 has really created a lot of challenges and food bank use has really gone up with many people experiencing food security issues,” Woodrow says.
“We really do hope that folks can give generously if they are able to, and that is why we will continue to donate to communities across our network this year,” the spokesperson adds.
Woodrow say they will also be hosting a virtual benefit concert, and details will be announced when they’re available.
The festive locomotive has been running since 1999. In its first 21 years, the train has raised $17.8-million and collected 4.8 million pounds of food.
