The Municipality of Red Lake isn’t in a position to ease coronavirus restrictions right now.
Fred Mota delivered a community update on the CKDR Morning Show Monday and he stated all facilities will remain closed to the public through May 12th.
He notes essential services including the fire department, public works, the transfer station and bylaw enforcement will remain open and operating.
Mota says “The municipality has been diligent and will remain diligent in its efforts as it pertains to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to adhere and enforce all directives from the provincial and federal governments.”
Mota stressed safety and well-being of their community is of the utmost importance.
“Understanding these are challenging times. Let’s remember we are resilient, compassionate and a gifted community. We as a collective group will endure these difficult and stressful times. Please protect yourself, protect your family and protect our community.”
Mota also thanked all of their hard working staff, essential workers and municipal employees for their dedication during this difficult time.
