Municipal representatives from across the region are getting an opportunity to outline their needs to Ontario politicians in Toronto.
They are attending the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Conference today and tomorrow. (Monday/Tuesday)
The City of Dryden is represented by Councillor’s Shayne MacKinnon, Michelle Price and Dave McKay.
Henry Wall is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Kenora District Services Board is also in attendance.
Wall says they have seven delegations with nine provincial ministers.
He notes priorities include funding for early years childcare programming, the need for more housing units and a labour development strategy for the region.
Wall says he will also push for more supports for mental health and addictions.
He says our communities are missing some critical infrastructure with respect to treatment.
Wall says we have many individuals who can’t get help right now.
