Anne Klassen
In loving memory of Anne Klassen who passed away peacefully at the Dryden Regional Health Center on Friday, October 25, 2019 at the age of 95.
Anne was born in Winkler, Manitoba on November 20, 1923 to the late Aganetha (Wiens) and Abram J. Ginther. Before she married, she worked at Deer Lodge and various hospitals in Winnipeg. Anne met the love of her life, Henry Klassen, through her brother and after several years of courting, they married on June 13, 1953. Anne and Henry moved to Wabigoon, Ontario in 1955 where they settled and raised their family.
Anne took special pride in everything that she did. Even with all the children and grandchildren around, her house was always perfectly clean. She enjoyed baking, gardening, rug hooking, embroidery, walking, curling, bowling, puzzling, playing card games and spending time with her family. Anne will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Anne is survived by her children: Ron Klassen (Kathy) of Winnipeg, MB, Gary Klassen of Wabigoon, ON, Patricia Pitchenese (Joseph) of Dinorwic, ON, Carol Murphy (Terry) of Fredericton, NB and Betty Klassen (Dan) of Wabigoon, ON, by 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Along with her sisters Betty Kehler (Pete), Mary Moore (Bert) and brother Isaac Ginther (Susan), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Anne was predeceased by her husband, Henry; parents, Abram and Aganetha Ginther; brothers Abe, Jake (Mary), Pete (Roselyn) and John; sisters, Tina (Pete), Nettie (Abe), Helen (Harold) and Martha (Jake).
Funeral services for Anne will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Jake Letkeman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service on Saturday. A private interment will take place at the Wabigoon Cemetery.
