An energy efficient project is set to begin for the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
The hospital has received approval to implement a Co-Generation System which will generate both energy and heat for the facility.
Chief Operating Officer Robert Van Oort says the approval process took a while, but it was for good reason.
Van Oort says they wanted to ensure that the project was done properly and that all T’s were crossed and all I’s were dotted.
Van Oort stresses the Co-Gen Unit is important since it will make the hospital more self-sufficient and lower energy costs for the facility.
