The Government of Canada is once again expanding opportunities for local seniors to be involved in community activities.
Kenora MP Bob Nault has put out the call for funding applications under the New Horizons for Seniors program.
Nault says up until June 15th, he will accept proposals for projects led or inspired by seniors in order to stay involved in their home community.
He says the Liberals will support projects that benefit the vulnerable seniors population, focus on the diversity of Canada’s seniors and will promote volunteerism.
Eligible organizations can receive up to $25,000 in funding.
Nault notes they have also introduced a new $5,000 grant for smaller projects.
Nault says in February, he announced more than $205,000 for nine projects throughout his riding.
