Northwestern Ontario continues to pick up new forest fires daily.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there were seven confirmed starts by days end Thursday and 151 fires continue to burn.
Information Officer Debbie MacLean says northwesterly winds are starting to push some smoke into the region.
MacLean says the smoke is from fires up north as well as Western Canada.
In most cases it will be just a haze but MacLean notes in some areas the smoke will be thicker.
MacLean says crews continue to work on a series of fires in the Summer Beaver, Big Trout Lake and Wunnumin Lake areas, where the blazes continue to burn deep and require extensive work by fire rangers.
