There are now more than 90-active forest fires burning in northwestern Ontario.
This despite the fact the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has been able to declare a number of fires out on a daily basis.
There were 23-confirmed fires by days end Tuesday and 13-new starts Wednesday.
The bulk of the fires are in the northern districts of Red Lake, Sioux Lookout and Nipigon, but fire officials note the southern districts are picking up new fires in Dryden, Kenora and Thunder Bay.
A majority of the new fires were caused by lightning.
