John was born July 2nd, 1948 in Obe, Ontario. He grew up in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. John served in the Vietnam War and moved to Dryden, Ontario in 1991 where he met the love of his life. They married in 1992 and he never looked back. John was a flooring installer and had a dream of owning his own business so he and his wife opened Sunset Flooring in 1998. He installed floors for over 50 years and took great pride in every job/work he had ever done. He was the hardest working man you would ever meet. He excelled at everything he did. He was brilliant!
John was not all about work though, he loved his time with the guys. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing and he always out-fished everyone. He took up golf later in life and that also grew to be one of his favourite past-times. He truly loved spending time outdoors. He was a man’s man.
John always told great stories and could tell a joke like no other. John had great love for his family as they had for him. He loved hosting family gatherings and dinners. Family was very important to him and he made sure all of the family knew that.
He had a heart of gold and we are going to miss his booming voice and big bear hugs.
Rest in Peace your work here is done.
