It may go down as the best game at the All-Ontario Boys High School Championship when all is said and done.
The Queen Elizabeth Warriors played one of their best games of the year in a statement game against the top team in all of Ontario, eventually losing 5-4 to the St. Mary Crusaders.
The Hamilton team entered the match-up without a struggle, easily will winning their previous three games.
However, the Warriors came out with an aggressive, in your face style, frustrating the Crusaders.
Queen Elizabeth carried a 3-2 lead into the third period, when St. Mary caught them off guard scoring two quick goals in the first 40-seconds.
However, the Warriors never gave up, battling St. Mary to the final buzzer.
Offensively, Queen Elizabeth was led by Cortez Favot, who had the hat trick, including a short handed marker.
Ben Forbes added a power play goal.
Jaden Marshall made 31-saves.
Sioux Lookout is now 0-3 and is eliminated from playoff contention.
They will play their final game of the season Thursday morning at 7:30 central against winless Bracebridge.
St. Mary finished the round-robin in first with a 4-0 record.
