For the first time in franchise history, a member of the English River Miners has won a major SIJHL year-end award.
Trevor Pereverzoff has been named the league’s top defenceman.
The 20-year-old from B.C led the league in goals for defencmen with 19 and power play goals with 10.
Pereverzoff played in all 56 games for the Miners this year and finished with 51-points.
He also led the English River Miners to a franchise record for fewest goals allowed of 197.
Pereveroff beat out Tristan Knott of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and Ryan Walsh of the Thunder Bay North Stars.
