Stanley George Thomson
February 17, 1933 – November 30, 2017
In loving memory of Stanley Thomson who passed away on Thursday, November 30th, 2017 with his family by his side.
Stanley was born and raised in Dryden. As a lifetime resident, he was deeply involved in his community. He had a passion for wildlife and nature. He also enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, woodwork and making cedar strip canoes, furniture and carvings. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marjorie and children; Karen (Wayne) Peters, Diane of Toronto, Linda (Gary) Bissett of Winnipeg, Bruce and Mary (Tim) Ernewein, 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Arlene Rossitto of Florida.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents George and Clara Thomson and grandson Shaun Peters.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 4th, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home.
A Traditional Service will take place on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Dryden Community Funeral Home’s Chapel with Pastor Velma Henderson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oxdrift Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Second Chance Pet Network or the Heart & Stroke Foundation through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, On, P8N 2X3
