         <title>Ice Dogs Clinch First</title>

         <description>The Dryden Ice Dogs have clinched 1st place in the round robin playoff series after a 4-3 overtime win over the Fort William North Stars at home last night.  The Stars led the Dogs 3-0 early in the second but the  home side rebounded scoring three times in the middle frame to tie it after 40 minutes.  No one would score until overtime when Kyle Heck scored his second of the game.  Mike Lennon and Kevin Burton also scored for Dryden who have now beat the Stars in their last three meetings.  Dryden who will wrap up the round robin series against the Sioux Lookout Flyers Saturday night in Sioux Lookout before choosing their opponent for the next round.   In other SIJHL playoff action the Fort Frances Lakers upended the K&amp;A Wolverines 2-1 to take a 3 games to 2 lead in the best of  seven.  The Lakers can close out the series at home Friday night.</description>

The Eagles take on General Amherst, the defending champion of OFSAA. 
General Amherst has yet to lose a set in this Tournament, while the Eagles have shown all of Ontario, that 'family love' can withstand anything.
Game time is 6:30 CST at St. John Catholic School.

         <title>Eagles Final Four Bound!!!</title>

         <description>It was a Quarter-Final match-up that pitched the top two defensive teams of the Tournament.
The hustle and blocking ability of the Dryden Eagles came out on top as the Blue and Gold defeated #1 West Elgin 19-25, 25-22, 15-12 Wednesday at St. John Catholic School in Perth.
The win means Dryden will compete in the Semi-Final and is guaranteed a medal, the main goal coming in for the players and coaching staff.
The Eagles will face Gisele Lalonde in the Semi-Final.
Game time is 2:30 CST at St. John. Catholic School.
Gisele defeated St. Thomas Aquinas 25-20, 25-19.
General Amherst is also moving on after a 25-10, 25-12 victory over St.Thomas Aquinas.
Beamsville also advances after a 25-15, 25-22 win over John McGregor.</description>

         <title>Sioux Flyers host North Stars Tonight</title>

         <description>The Sioux Lookout Flyers hope some home cooking will get them back in the race as their SIJHL first round three team series continues tonight.  The Flyers host the Fort William North Stars who  sit second after falling 2-1 Saturday night at home.  The Flyers lost both of their road games including a 4-1 loss to the Stars last week.  Dryden sits atop the three teams standings with 4 points the North Stars have three points and the Flyers have yet to register a point.  Puck drop is 7:30 at the Sioux Lookout Arena.  The winner of the three team round robin will get to choose their opponent in the the next round of the playoffs.</description>

         <description>The Dryden Eagle Girls are hoping for a repeat performance at the All-Ontario Girls Volleyball Final in Perth.
The Blue and Gold battle the West Elgin Wildcats in the Quarter-Final at St. John High School.
The two teams met in last year's Quarter-Final, with Dryden winning in straight sets 25-17, 25-19.
Both teams finished this year's round-robin with a 3-1 record.
Game time is 11:30 CST </description>

         <title>Eagles Still Waiting</title>

         <description>The Dryden Eagles are still waiting to see who they are playing in the Quarter-Final at the OFSAA Championship in Perth.
The Blue and Gold finished second in their pool and are scheduled to play the first place team in Pool A.
However, Day 2 of competition saw a three way tie between West Elgin, John McGregor and Sir James Dunn.
According to OFSAA rules, John McGregor advances to the final of a tie-breaking match because of point differential.
They will play the winner of West Elgin and Sir James Dunn.
That 1 set match, which goes to 15, is scheduled shortly here in Perth.
The Quarter-Final game with Dryden involved is scheduled for 11:30 CST at St. John Catholic School. 
Dryden was 2-0 yesterday at this venue.

         <title>Eagles Fall in a Great Game</title>

         <description>The Dryden Eagles will finish the round-robin with a 3-1 record at the All-Ontario Girls Volleyball Championship in Perth.
Playing in their fourth game in one day, the Blue and Gold dropped a 3 set decision to the Beamsville Bucs.
(25-20, 22-25, 15-10).
The Eagles showed a lot of heart and desire but just came out short in the end.
Dryden still advances to the OFSAA Quarter-Final, with the second place showing in the B Pool.
The first round opponent of the Eagles won't be known until Wednesday morning.
Dryden takes on the Pool A Champion, where a potential 3-way tie could occur.
The Eagles could face #1 West Elgin, #6 John McGregor or #11 Sir James Dunn.
John McGregor and Sir James Dunn both play tomorrow morning at 7:00.
Dryden hits the court at 11:30 no matter what.

         <description>Callie Grabowski was the triple threat in the second game of the OFSAA Volleyball Final in Perth.
Grabowski recorded a key block, followed with a couple of strong kills and ended with a string of key serves leading the Dryden Eagles to a 2-0 win over the host Perth Blue Devils.
The Eagles had to deal with an athletic and quick Blue Devils defense to start but perservered with a 25-15 win.
Dryden ended with a 25-11 victory in the second set.
The Eagles now face the highly ranked De La Salle team in the third game.
Game time is 3:30 cst</description>

         <description>Strong serving was the key in the Dryden Eagles opening game at the OFSAA Volleyball Championship in Perth.
The Girls defeated Don Bosco High School from Etibicoke 25-7, 25-11 Tuesday morning at St. John's Catholic School.
Natalie Saar and Melissa Felske keyed the attack early, rolling off consecutive winning serves.
Meryl Smith was also strong with several early kills.
Dryden is back on the court at 12:30 cst against the host team.
That game will be played at Perth District Collegiate.

         <description>The Sioux Lookout Queen Elizabeth Warriors are NORWOSSA boys single &quot;A&quot; hockey champions!  The Warrior boys held off a third period onslaught in Kenora Sunday night and defeated Thomas Aquinas 6-4.  The Warriors won the best of 3 league title in 2 straight.  
The Warriors will head to St. Catherines later this month for the OFSSA Single &quot;A&quot; Hockey Championships.</description>
