Lakers forward Jared Virtanen has been named Canadian Junior Hockey Third Star for the month of December.
In seven contests played last month, the 20-year-old from Abbotsford, B.C., recorded points in each of them, amassing 20 in total on three goals and 17 assists.
Virtanen currently sits in second place in scoring in the SIJHL.
Trenton Golden Hawks goalie Chris Janzen was the number one star, while Portage Terriers forward Jeremy Leipsic was the second star.
