The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has quashed rumors regarding a pair of SIJHL teams jumping ship to play out west next season.
Commissioner Kim Davis confirms he’s talked to representatives from Dryden and Fort Frances as well as Kenora about joining the League.
However, Davis says he has not asked for, nor accepted any applications and he won’t the future of the SIJHL in jeopardy.
Davis says the Manitoba League won’t expand in 2005 however he adds if representatives want to pursue a team for 2006, they would have to approach the league and the MJHL would be happy to conduct talks.
