The Ontario Minister of Natural Resources has promised that the Heritage Hunting and Fishing Act will be passed sometime in the new year.
The bill was part of a backlog of legislation adjourned earlier this month.
Mark Holmes, a spokesman for the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, says he has been assured the legislation will become law once MPPs return to Queens Park in the spring.
Holmes blames the NDP for not giving the bill unanimous consent and delaying the implementation of the legislation.
