Most Canadians think legalizing marijuana next year will lead to more cases of impaired driving and addiction.
That’s according to a recent Ipsos poll.
60% of Canadians think there will be an increase in impaired driving once marijuana is legalized for recreational use next year.
Almost half of the respondents think addiction problems will rise.
Those 55 years or older were more likely to think addiction problems will go up.
Some appear to have a more relaxed attitude about marijuana and driving.
Over 20% agree that laws governing impaired driving due to marijuana should be more relaxed compared to drinking and driving.
When it comes to tourism, 40% think legalizing marijuana will help, while 50% thinks it will stay the same.
