The City of Dryden has decided to adopt a new snowmobile bylaw, just in time for the winter season.
The bylaw prohibits snowmachining on all downtown area streets and restricts sledders to crossing many other streets at 90 degree angles only.
Speeds were also set at a maximum of 20 kilometres per hour where the posted limit is 50 and a maximum of 50 where speeds within the city limits may be higher.
Councillor Brian England says sledders need to ride in a responsible manner for the benefit of everyone so that the city will not have to ban snowmachines altogether.
