Thunder Bay Police may be considering legal action against the protesters who shut down a busy intersection during the noon hour Monday.
Police say they were notified by a Facebook posting, as well as a protester phoning with a heads up just before it started.
Officer Dan Taddeo says the group was urged to demonstrate somewhere else, as there are unlawful aspects to this particular protest of pipeline construction out west.
He points out that no permit was obtained, as well as highway traffic laws regarding the disruption of traffic that were disregarded.
Taddeo says no arrests were made during the event.
He stresses protecting public safety was there main concern.
