Sioux Lookout OPP describe it as a scary and disturbing incident involving an unruly bar crowd.
Police say they were called to Front Street early Sunday morning to move a crowd of more than 100 people who were blocking traffic.
Constable Bob Neelin says the crowd gathered downtown after a series of Christmas parties.
Neelin says once police moved in, the crowd became ugly, pushing, kicking and shouting at officers.
Two people were arrested.
However, Neelin says once officers returned to the detachment, about 20 people banged on the door, shouted obscenities and demanded the release of the two people detained.
The crowd eventually dispersed and no one was hurt.
Neelin adds more arrests and charges are likely in connection with the incident.
